Blogger of the Week
Environmental Booty
By Phoebe Sweetbriar
We here at DLS are excited about continuing with our new Lifestyle column that highlights an emerging industry of new journalists, the Bloggers. Blogging has become a new and very niched way to enter the journalistic industry and gain a following by being something we are all striving to be, ourselves. Expressing our individuality is oh so DEREK FABULOUS, so Bloggers everywhere, we solute you and your continued efforts to help communities everywhere access information that otherwise may not be available to them.
In the spirit of April, our Green month, we recommend EnviromentalBooty.com brought to us by our blogger of the week, Shane Shirly-Smith. Shane started her company and website just over a year ago after she had a bad reaction to the artificial sweetener, aspartame. Her path to a more “green” lifestyle began there. Her company, Environmental Health-Wellness-Beauty, LLC, operates various environmental health initiatives with the hope of helping others see the “green” light so to speak. “Our goal is to help consumers become aware of how their choices impact their health and the health of our environment,” says Shirly-Smith. She incorporates her main site, EnvironmentalBooty.com, her blog, Environmental Health-Wellness-Beauty…Get Informed Now! as well as a community site to promote her mission of spreading the eco-message. Most recently, she has created an Environmental Booty Shop with our DLS friends at OpenSkyproject.com.
Shane’s message of a smaller carbon footprint is an important lesson for us all. We don’t have the luxury of ignoring the crisis our world is in today. We see the impact we are having on our planet. You can’t pick up a newspaper, read a blog, and or watch a newscast without the constant reminder that we are hitting or are past the tipping point.
Today it is the responsibility of us all to start doing more-whether for our immediate surroundings or as a global community. For more information, please check out Shane’s site “Environmental Booty.” No matter where your start, you can make always make a difference!

Thanks so much Phoebe and Derek! I think I speak for many of my green blogger friends when I say,”Thanks!” for bringing awareness to our efforts.
