A Soft Kisser

By: Justin St. Clair

A young woman sits in my chair. It’s 8:30 in the morning. Beside her is the requisite coffee cup. She looks sleepy and a bit worse for wear. It’s my job to make the dark circles go away; the pimples vanish and restore the youthful flush of life to her cheeks. Happily, I can say, “No worries, I got this”! Then I see them! My stomach lurches and my heart sinks. Her lips!!! Wrinkled, flaky, mottled and caked with dried coffee residue – in short, gross! Like raisins or two dried out peppers on the verge of cracking. Chills run up my spine!

Feverishly I dig through my bag of tricks and pull out what is my product recommendation for the week: my Malin & Goetz Lip Moisturizer. I squeeze out a small pearl and smear it into what used to look like lips. Instantly, the model moans a sigh of relief. “What is that?” She grabs the tube from my hand and squeezes some more out and rubs it in. “This stuff is good! I have lips again!” she says with zeal. I might add she now appears to be awake for the first time that day.

She’s not an inexperienced model, in fact she’s been modeling since she was 15 years old and now she’s 25, ten years in front of the camera! Still a young woman for us normal people but a dinosaur in the modeling biz. If she keeps on modeling she’ll no doubt end up an Icon on models.com.

This is not an isolated or unusual incident. It happens about once a week at my job. Male or female, old or young, everyone has the same response.

Malin & Goetz Lip Moisturizer is good stuff! It’s flavor, fragrance and color free so ideal for sensitive, irritated lips. Absorbent hydrogenated polyisobutene fatty acids instantly hydrate lips on contact and as a result aren’t licked or wiped off like commonly used waxes, oils or silicones.  Thirty minutes later her make-up is all applied and she’s ready for the camera. The look is all about the lips and hers look great. We’ve all but forgotten the morning’s dilemma.

My recommendation? Run don’t walk!
