Helping Hands: Come Tonight-Raise Money While Bidding on Goodies

Anyone who knows us here at DLS knows we are all about Community Service and incorporating our mantra to Help, Teach, Inspire, Love and have Fun into everything we do. That is why we want to HELP bring special attention to this upcoming event for the Vasculitis Foundation.

Pamela Peckerman, our resident handbag guru and bag-a-licious founder of her site, bagtrends.com, is hosting the first annual Ilya Pekerman Fund Silent Auction, a fundraising event for her late father, Ilya Pekerman, who passed away on December 18, 2009 from Wegener’s Granulomatosis disease, a form of Vasculitis.

Vasculitis diseases are chronic, autoimmune diseases that encompass approximately 15 different rare disorders.  Money raised from the event goes towards TEACHing patients and their families about the disease and INSPIRES and supports research into the causes, treatments, and cures.

The $36.00 ticket price represents a double “chai” (18) which means “living” in Hebrew.  Ilya wore a “chai” charm around his neck.  He LOVED life so when he lived, HE REALLY LIVED.  So lets celebrate his life by raising money for this amazing cause, so that others who suffer from these rare forms of disease can live longer, healthier lives.

Enjoy wine, tequila and desert while bidding on some of the amazing things up for grabs at the auction.  There will be DEREK FABULOUS items from Stuart Weitzman and HP to Miami’s Shore Club and the NFL.  So come join Pamela, her family and all of us at DLS for some FUN for a great cause.
