Sexy Eyes Blue and Nude

The hottest make up trend this summer is natural make-up and we can all agree that this trend couldn’t come at more appropriate sweltering weather moment. Runway shows featured natural looking make-up with a burst of color (most popularly, blue) or a thick outline of the eyes with Lancôme’s latest eyeliner and long thick lashes.

“All those photos of Brigitte Bardot and Romy Schneider—they were big inspirations,” says Gracemarie Papaleo, assistant vice president, product development, at Lancôme, to W Magazine. She turned to a coffee-table book about the heyday of Saint-Tropez when she was dreaming up the brand’s latest collection. This summer Lancôme has launched Déf inicils Precious Cells, which will make your lashes appear longer and fuller.

Estee Lauder is one of the brands responsible for introducing blue eye shadow on the Catwalk this season. “Blue eye shadows scare people,” admits Estée Lauder’s creative makeup director, Tom Pecheux. His intention in introducing the Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette in Blue Dahlia is to dust off the color’s tarnished and tacky reputation. This was done successfully given that celebrities have rocked the once gaudy color all over the red carpet.

“You can do a crazy fashionable blue, but you can also do a nude eye with a touch of blue,” he explains. “It’s meant to be playful.”
